Tekla Structural Designer 2016 in a nutshell
Tekla Structural Designer 2016 introduces significant performance improvements in both modeling and processing times when analyzing and designing steel and concrete structures. The improved performance will benefit all engineers and allows handling larger, more demanding models with ease.
The new release has plenty of modelling enhancements, and it introduces steel and concrete design to Indian codes. It allows you to design buildings in higher classified earthquake regions with the addition of seismic design and detailing checks to US codes of practice. Designing pad and strip foundations to a range of international codes all within the same model environment is now possible.
With the IFC compatibility, Tekla Structural Designer 2016 users are now free to join open BIM workflows- Welcome smoother processes and reduced manual work: You can now share and review designs with other project parties even at a very early stage of the project.
Installation Notes - Important
Tekla Structural Designer 2016 can be installed alongside the previous release.
Models created in the previous version can be opened and worked on in Tekla Structural Designer 2016. However, please note that once saved these models cannot be re-opened with the previous version.
To help with the transition to Tekla Structural Designer 2016 all customized settings made in the previous version are transferred automatically for you.
Product Activation Keys
To activate Tekla Structural Designer you need a new Product Activation Key, which is available to users on Maintenance. Your IT department may have already received and pre-installed it. In this case Tekla Structural Designer 2016 will be active straight from installation but if you have not pre-installed your Product Activation Key, you will need it for installing your software.
